ALFA KING

HIGH THICKNESS WALL PANEL WITH INTEGRATED SEAL

THE JOINT FOR A PERFECT INSULATION

Alfa King is the sandwich panel that revolutionizes the way of conceiving systems for the creation of cold rooms and controlled atmosphere environments. The strong point of Alfa King’s innovative patent is characterized by a double level of gaskets, to guarantee total water-tightness.

The main gasket system is given by a hollow EPDM tape placed inside the panel joint through a continuous process. It is an elastic material, used in the automotive industry for the creation of seals applied to openings and windows, particularly resistant to chemical agents and which maintains its flexibility characteristics unaltered even at low temperatures.
This solution allows thermal insulation and vapour barrier performance superior to any other system known to date for dry joining between panels. The second level of sealing is given by the thixotropic single-component polyurethane sealant (or other silicone sealant) installed. This further guarantee allows the maximum level of air tightness to be achieved.

We want to show you.
We will now put our Alfa King to the test by dry coupling it.

THE APPLICATIONS

Alfa King for controlled atmosphere environments and cold rooms

Normal temperature cold rooms keep products at temperatures between -5°C and +15°C and guarantee constant temperature maintenance and low humidity levels, which is why they are widely used in the agri-food sector.

The sandwich panels designed for this type of environment must guarantee excellent thermal insulation performance, as the steam significantly affects the quality of the stored product.

An efficient seal and the absence of thermal bridges are the essential conditions for maintaining uniform conditions on the preserved products.

Key factors for the design and construction of low temperature cold room enclosures (-24 °C – 0 °C) are the effective sealing of external joints and the use of finishes resistant to moisture penetration and the formation of toxic mould or bacterial.

The energy costs incurred for the operation of cold rooms represent a significant part of the overall costs of the cold chain. Alfa King panels, with their high performance in terms of insulation and airtightness and exceptional energy efficiency standards, can minimize energy consumption and operating costs.

Alfa King for acidic food processing and storage rooms

In dairy factories, slaughterhouses and where foods of animal origin are processed, great importance must be given to the choice of metal coverings for walls and ceilings, in order to guarantee the quality of the product and compliance with hygiene standards, and to avoid any risk of contamination.

In such environments, characterized by thermally and hygienically complex conditions, Alfa King panels with stainless steel cladding are to be considered the best solution to resist the aggressive effects of milk acid and organic substances.

Alfa King meets the relevant health and hygiene regulations because it guarantees total resistance to mould, is easy to install, thanks to the male/female system with integrated gasket, does not require the use of union profiles and resists corrosion caused by the majority of the chemicals used for deep cleaning.

Alfa King for oxygen-reducing environments

For all those applications in which, through oxygen reduction, it’s needed to eliminate the risk of fire.

The new trend in the field of safety and prevention sees the construction of intensive warehouses in which, instead of fire protection devices (or in addition to them), prevention systems are installed, i.e. systems that maintain an under-oxygenated atmosphere.
The applications are many.

Some examples:

  • Archives.
  • IT and electrical cabinets.
  • Automated warehouses.
  • Hazardous materials storage areas.

The Alfa King panel guarantees absolute air impermeability, keeping the parameters stable within the environments involved.

Alfa King for positive and negative pressure clean-rooms

Clean-rooms – with positive or negative pressure – are environments in which the micro-environmental parameters, inert particle and microbiological contamination are strictly controlled, to guarantee the sterility of the processed products and the safety of the operators.

Commonly used in the food, organic and healthcare sectors, they are now finding increasing application (isolation rooms, laboratories or multi-purpose units also intended for the containment and treatment of Covid-19).

Alfa King is the ideal product for the creation of pharmaceutical, biotechnological, hospital or industrial clean rooms. In the smooth version, and through careful assembly which provides coplanarity of the surfaces and non-porosity – conditions which counteract the formation of bacteria and ensure maximum sterility – it combines insulation, ease of cleaning, resistance to the aggression of decontaminating agents, flexibility and simplicity of assembly.

PLUS

Perfect airtightness: the system can achieve water tightness up to 1350 Pa and air tightness up to 500 Pa. The tests carried out demonstrate that even with dry coupling Alfa King guarantees impermeability to water and air, while the other systems examined, dry coupled, show water passage between 30″ and 120″ from the start of the test.
High construction quality, excellent thermal performance (Lambda = 0,020 W/(mK)), high structural resistance, excellent reaction and fire resistance characteristics and hygiene guarantee.
Tested according to the latest European standards and compliant with relevant national and international regulations and legislation.
Adaptability to any type of application: construction and renovation of steel structures, reinforced concrete, pre-stressed reinforced concrete and renovation of buildings made with traditional systems.
Modularity and simplicity of installation.
A complete range of accessories: sanitary profiles, fixing screws, thermal doors and compensation valves.
Pre-painted steels capable of meeting the most rigorous criteria in terms of performance and respect for the environment required by designers.
Recyclability at the end of the building’s use (EPD certification).

INSIGHTS PIR FOAM

On request is available in PIR foam version (polyisocyanurate), a particular polymeric structure that guarantees excellent characteristics of fire behavior. The entire range of ISOLPACK panels has been certified in Class B-s2,d0 at CSTB (France) and at KIT (Germany) in compliance with UNI EN 13823 (SBI) * where, “B” expresses the quantity of heat produced during the first 600 seconds of the test <7.5 MJ (best value obtainable for foamed products); “S2” represents a very low development of the fumes and “d0” indicates the absolute absence of drops and/or inflamed particles. In last years, the SBI test has become a standard requirement in Europe for fire behavior of building materials. The new European standard for sandwich panels – UNI EN 14509 – uses the SBI system for fire classification purposes. ISOLPACK is the only one in Italy to design light, highly insulating applications with unequaled fire reaction requirements. In many cases it can replace the rock wool panel considering its fire reaction characteristics combined with the very high thermal insulation power.

EPD CERTIFICATION (CAM)

The entire range of roofing and wall panels in steel and aluminium in PIR, PUR and mineral wool, single metal sheet panels and corrugated metal sheets in steel and aluminium, possess the EPD type III – EN ISO 14025 certification, meeting the requirements of compliance with the regulation construction DM 23 June 2022, and satisfying the required CAM criteria.
