BIM and envelope design:
data, performance and continuity in detailed design

Isolpack BIM models for Autodesk Revit available for download

In the digital design process, the model is no longer just a geometric representation, but an information structure: layers, performance and technical data define its quality.

In this context, Isolpack systems are now also available in BIM format for Autodesk Revit (and soon also in IFC format for other platforms), with the aim of integrating components into the digital model and ensuring continuity between technical information, design and the execution phase.

Isolpack BIM families allow you to:

  • integrate the systems into the Revit model
  • manage technical and performance data in a BIM environment
  • associate thermal transmittance values with the solutions
  • define layers with greater precision
  • improve design coordination
  • maintain consistency with Isolpack technical documentation

Isolpack BIM content can be accessed from the Download area of the website. By registering for the reserved Technical Area, users can consult the full library of resources dedicated to design, including BIM models.

In the digital design process, the value of the model no longer lies solely in geometric representation, but in the quality and continuity of the information it contains: layers, performance and technical data become an integral part of the design structure.

In this context, Isolpack systems have also been developed in BIM format for Autodesk Revit, with the aim of supporting the integration of components within the digital model and ensuring continuity between technical information, design and the execution phase.

The following content covers:

  • the use of Isolpack systems in a BIM environment
  • the information structure of Revit families
  • the role of parametric behaviour and data centralisation
  • the usage logic of the two available configurations

Integration of Isolpack systems into the BIM model

Isolpack BIM families allow systems to be inserted into the Revit project as complete information elements, not merely representative ones.

This approach makes it possible to:

  • integrate Isolpack systems directly into the digital model
  • manage technical and performance information in a BIM environment
  • associate thermal transmittance values with the different solutions
  • define layers with greater precision
  • improve coordination between design disciplines
  • ensure consistency with the product’s technical documentation

Isolpack BIM models are available on request.
The Technical Office is available to share the files and provide support for their implementation in projects.

Isolpack BIM content can be accessed through the Download area of the website.

Data structure and parametric behaviour

Isolpack BIM families are developed to work not only on representation, but also on the quality of design data.

Parametric behaviour
The components can be adapted to different dimensional configurations by acting on the model parameters, reducing the need for repetitive modelling and accelerating the evaluation of design alternatives.

Data centralisation
Each family integrates technical, performance and construction information from the real system. The component thus becomes an information element that consistently feeds schedules, quantity take-offs and drawings.

Model standardisation
The use of official Isolpack families ensures graphic uniformity and technical consistency throughout the entire design process, improving control between the model and the built result.

Dual Isolpack BIM type

A distinctive feature of the Isolpack approach is the presence, within the same file, of two system representation modes designed for different design requirements.

🧱 “Wall” Family
System based on a parametric extruded solid with complete layering.

It allows you to:

  • manage the entire layered package of the system
  • optimise quantity take-offs and technical definition
  • facilitate the insertion of the openings required for windows and doors
  • limit the digital weight of the model

Solution suitable for quantity take-off phases, technical development and layer definition.

🪟 “Curtain Wall” Family
System based on a reference surface with a modular grid.

It allows you to:

  • represent the system with a higher level of graphic detail
  • manage solid or empty panels
  • develop more complex architectural configurations
  • obtain a more complex and computationally heavier model

Solution suitable for design development and advanced representation.

Access to BIM content

Isolpack BIM models are available on request.
For further information on the use of families in Revit workflows or for technical consultation, the Technical Office is available to designers.

By accessing the Isolpack Download area, users can consult and download a range of technical materials supporting design, including catalogues and product documentation.

Within the same area, access to the reserved Technical Area is also available, where users can register to consult the full library of content dedicated to designers.

Once registration is complete, access is granted to advanced materials, including Isolpack BIM models for Autodesk Revit.
