Photovoltaic: Roof or Ground Mounted?

Photovoltaic panels can be placed almost anywhere: on the ground, on the roof and in all places that enjoy satisfactory exposure. To install a photovoltaic system it is necessary to have adequate space, a correct inclination of the available surfaces and an area well exposed to the sun’s rays.
But where to place the system? On the roof or on the ground?
Installing photovoltaic panels on the roof is certainly the most profitable solution. The inclination of the roof, in fact, offers perfect exposure to the sun’s rays and the panels, if mounted optimally, within a few years will allow you to recover the installation costs thanks to savings on the bill.
If the roof does not have a tiled covering, the photovoltaic modules can be integrated directly into the load-bearing structure. To be positioned above the tiles, however, they will require a special frame capable of supporting them. To obtain maximum performance, the panels must be exposed to the south and the view must be free from trees, antennas and chimneys.

The installation of photovoltaic panels on the ground, however, is only convenient for powering large systems, such as a factory or plant, also because the system placed on the roof accumulates more, especially in winter, compared to the one on the ground. Furthermore, the ground-mounted photovoltaic system is subject to numerous architectural and environmental integration constraints, aimed not only at protecting the territory but at not taking away precious surfaces for cultivation.
